ACCESS TO AIRPORT

The most popular sign in Athens shows the correct route to Spata, the area where the Airport Eleftherios Venizelos is located and operated since March 2001. If you drive your own vehicle, you will arrive there easily, through Mesogeion Avenue and Attikis Odos (from the Pallini overpass going toward Spata), or the Ymittos beltway, through Katehaki Avenue.

Based on the time you plan to stay there, a long period or short time (maximum length is 4 hours), you may chose the parking areas accordingly (long or short parking). Free parking is available (for cars) in the short time parking area for a time of 20 minutes or less, and (for motorcycles) in the arrival section near exits 1 and 5. To arrive at the El. Venizelos without a private car or to depart for the city of Athens, you may use the urban express buses X93, X95, X96 and X97 that serve the airport exclusively, during all hours.

Τhe ticket costs 3.20 €. It is valid only for one transfer from or to the airport and you may purchase it from the bus driver, the Metro stations and the bus and trolley ticket booths. Note that this ticket is a one day pass of unlimited trips and is valid in all the mass public transportation, that is Metro, electric rails, buses and trolleys, for a period of 24 hours following the validation time. The frequency varies from 15 minutes to 1 hour and information for the routes and times are found in the corresponding terminals. The disembarkation of passengers from all the lines above is in the departure level of the airport, and the terminal of the buses departing the airport is in the arrival level between exits 4 and 5.

You may also use the two K.T.E.L. express lines to/from Markopoulo and Rafina.

Of course, there is the possibility to go by Metro, using Line 3: Airport – Aigaleo for the ticket price of 6 €.
