Agios Nikolaos Ragavas Church

Agios Nikolaos Ragavas is a byzantine church, built in the 11th Century A.D. by the grandson of Emperor Michael I Rangabe, Paul Xiropotamino.

Agios Nikolaos Ragavas Church has embodied in its walls marble pillars and parts of ancient edifice. It was the first church in Athens that acquired a bell after the liberation of Greece by the Turks and the first to toll the freedom of the city from the Germans, in 1944.
