Agora Square

Agora Square

From the beginning of Adrianou shopping Street with its high quality tourist shops, move onto Aiolou Street and you will find Agora Square. This signals the entry to Plaka. Agora Square is small but miraculous.

One can take a rest under the trees with a beverage at of the many cafeterias or have a Greek specialty in one of the surrounding restaurants.

With its starting at Agora Square, we find the Athens Happy Trains. These toy train-like modes of transportation takes around the Acropolis Hill, Plaka, Monastiraki and Thissio.

More specifically, the delightful trains making the rounds at Plaka take less time of your day and consist of the Athens Happy Train and the Sunshine Express. Unlike the bus service, this is a one-time-around trip with no getting off and on. It is a very safe and fun experience, with passersby greeting as you putt along the lovely city. This service is also ideal for children or seniors. The more than 3km long walk around Acropolis Hill can be exhausting, especially in the heat of summer.
