AIOLOU STREET
Like a more narrow extension of Patision Street toward the Acropolis, Aiolou starts from Panepistimiou Avenue and ends in the Roman Agora – in the heart of Plaka.
Basically, it is a commercial street and most of it is a pedestrian precinct. There is nothing you could not find to buy while you walk along this street. Combined with the stores of the side streets (Sofokleous, Evripidou, Ermou, Mitropoleos and Adrianou) they will tempt you with their fresh foods, beautiful fabrics and household items, clothes of every kind or souvenirs of the city.
With the recent traffic adjustments around Omonia Square, Aiolou street has at its beginning two lanes going the opposite way, as it is in Britain, to better serve traffic going toward Stadiou and Panepistimiou streets.
