MITROPOLEOS STREET
The exceptional use of Mitropoleos Street for the traffic congestion of the historical center of Athens, allows the passage of vehicles from Syntagma Square to Monastiraki, on the outskirts of Plaka.
Of course, this is not strictly a functional street. Not far from Syntagma Square there is the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens and, next to it, the church of Panagia Gorgoepikoos. From there, you may cross Plaka through Pandrosou Street to reach Monastiraki.
HOT SPOTS - What we propose
METROPOLEOS (AGIA DYNAMI)
Under the building of Ministry of Education and Religion there is a small church wedged between two columns. This is the church of ''Agia Dynami'' – the Holy Power of the Virgin. Do not pass it by, for it is an oasis of simplicity that has survived since the 16th Century worthy of your time.
