Athens, 01-12-2019"Kolonaki of Then and Now. History and Architecture"

Take a walk through the historic Athenian neighborhood guided by Nikos Vatopoulos today.
Kolonaki is a residential neighborhood of old urban gentry as well as a commercial and cultural hub of modern shops, nightclubs, museums, galleries and other art-related venues. The city quarter featuring neoclassical and art deco buildings as well as apartment blocks of the interwar era has been home to prominent figures of the Greek arts and letters scene, such as Melina Mercouri, Dimitris Horn, Nikos Kazantzakis and Odysseus Elytis.
A walk through Kolonaki starting from the Hellenic American Union with Nikos Vatopoulos as a guide. During the walk of approximately 2 hours, “guide” Nikos Vatopoulos will be highlighting the history and remarkable architecture of the area.
