USEFUL INFORMATION

SHOPS, SERVICES AND EXHIBITIONS

Plenty of brand name shops are available to the passenger who visits El. Venizelos like clothes, sporting goods, jewelry, cosmetics, electronics, books, CDs, gifts, perfumes, liquor and sweets are few of the items that can be found. We must not forget the eleven specially designed areas where the traveler is able to dine or enjoy a quick meal and the six café for the needed dose of caffeine…

When it comes to the services that El. Venizelos offers to travelers, we just mention a few, such as banks, exchange offices, ATMs, car rental, luggage carriage, and of course, the pharmacy, the post office and the flower shop (for a forgotten kind gesture).

A round the clock service of luggage storage is available, charged by the hour and by the piece. The storage office is located in the arrival section level 0 of the main airport, with entrance number 1.

Also there is available travel information, hotel reservations, purchase of airline and boat tickets, cruise bookings in the E.O.T. (Greek National Tourism Organization) and the travel offices located on the Arrival Level 0.

Finally, in the International Airport El. Venizelos – specifically in the Central Airport, Departure Level, on the bridge that leads to McDonald’s – there is a permanent exhibition honoring the historic politician that the Airport is named after, Eleftherios Venizelos. This exhibition was organized in collaboration with the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) “Eleftherios Venizelos” and its purpose is to present to the travelers and the visitors of the Airport, through a series of photographs, the significant part that Eleftherios Venizelos played in the historical and social course of the country. Also, it describes in brief the life and public work of this great politician of contemporary Greece.

The material of the exhibition mainly comes from the photography archives of the National Research Institute “Eleftherios Venizelos”, the Public Library of the Municipality of Chania and the Benaki Museum.
