As meeting places of the masses in the same way that we often see happening in squares of other countries, the squares of Athens are smaller in size.
But, like poles of attraction and gathering, they form areas that the Athenians visit to satisfy their need for social mixing.
The squares, no matter how small they may be, form as cores for markets, relaxation, strolls or mere meeting points. Therefore, the popular slogan, "Let's go square" that arose from a well known 90s TV series did not get that way by accident.
