--------------------
Course:
If you have reached Syntagma with the Metro, be sure to get out at the square and cross the road to Ermou Street – now partially a pedestrian way from its beginning for half its distance. Walking down Ermou, the commercial stores of the "historical triangle" of the city opens up in front of you. Shops of all different kinds make up the picture while traveling salesmen complete it.
You don¢t stop walking down the sidewalk until you hit the church Kapnikarea and its same named square – going around it on the left you continue down Ermou for a few more meters until you meet Aiolou Street.
Aiolou is a mainly pedestrian road that unites the Roman Agora of the Clock of Andronicus of Cyrrhus (Tower of The Winds) with the center of the city – basically ending up at the crossing of Eleftherios Venizelos Avenue (Panepistimiou) with 28th October (Patision) Street, 50 meters from Omonia Square.
Turning right from Ermou on Aiolou, aiming north, you have the Acropolis to your back and move on for about 700 meters – where you meet Stadiou Street. In its entire length, you will find many interesting stores that vary from clothing to household goods that the locals trust and visit often. On this street, you will even find shops with cultural art, candle stores and beautiful cafés.
If, in fact, you managed to getting your bearings straight enough to find Aiolou Street again between the two churches you will find on your right – Agia Irini (80 m from the crossroads of Ermou and Aéolou) and Panagia Chryssospiliotissa (a few meters from the crossroads of Aiolou and Eyripidou) – you can walk around the numerous small roads to the right of that area, discovering everything that the active market has to offer in the Historical Triangle.
