The first solo exhibition of Antonis Kapnisis entitled "Raft" (Design) is presented at DL Gallery, which condenses many years of research and the aesthetic and theoretical searches of the visual artist. Through an ascetic process, Kapnisis crosses painting with the techniques of drawing and engraving, posing questions about the limits and possibilities of the visual act itself.

Large-scale drawings on paper and small acrylics on wood compose a visual universe, which invites the visitor to enter. Whether it is open landscapes with architectural compositions, or utopian constructions with enigmatic labyrinths and otherworldly folds, the black and white world of Kapnisis is dominated by ambiguity and ambivalence.

Ultimately, with the Raft exhibition, the Greek visual artist attempts to demonstrate that painting is primarily a spiritual and intellectual process; a process by which he explores philosophical and ontological issues, upon which the viewer is invited to reflect.
