The name (mushroom + rock) underlines the band members' special relationship with mushrooms and the band's rock style.

Manitarock were born and live in Grevena, the "city of mushrooms". The passing of the band members from rock, rebetika, "artistic", folk-traditional bands and Byzantine choirs indicates the breadth of a musical style, which combines the traditional with the modern, the seasoned with the timeless, the expected with the unexpected and the Greek with the universal.

This style is reflected in George's compositions, he gives a special stamp to the arrangements of traditional songs from Epirus, Macedonia, Thrace, Smyrna, Pontus and Grecia Salentina, shapes the orchestral view in rebetika, folk and contemporary Greek songs and leads to the marriage of traditional Epirotian songs with classic rock compositions, based on the ancient pentatonic scale

The characteristic dissonances of Despina Kleisiaris and Giorgos Konstantinidis and "piragmeno", with special tuning and bouzouki elements, are supported by the doxarias of Thomas Tsiotikas and the chords of Thymios Papastergiou are rhythmically underlined by the drums of Demosthenes Konstantinidis and the bass lines of Giorgos Doumas bringing back to the fore primal melodies and rhythms, which have been inscribed in our collective memory.
