About

In the great American writer's fascinating theatrical political allegory the witch hunt begins. Raised with the right of physical presence but no right of speech, a group of young women suddenly discover that their words have untold power. Vendettas and accusations follow each other, fear spreads through the community of Salem, as anyone can now find themselves in the dock.

Lindsay Turner (Hamlet) directs the new, contemporary production of Miller's masterpiece, based on Tony Award winner S. Devlin (The Lehman Trilogy), starring Erin Doherty (The Crown) and Brendan Cowell (The Germa). The Salem Witches or The Trial, as Miller's play is also known, is based on true events that occurred in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692, which resulted in the hanging of twenty innocent people.
