Goulandris Natural History Museum

Visiting the Goulandris Natural History Museum gives us a chance to come into contact with the kingdom of plants and animals in order to learn about them in an understandable and scientifically processed format.

The museum was founded by Angelos and Niki Goulandris in order to promote interest in the natural sciences, to raise the awareness of the public, in general, and in particular to call its attention to the need to protect Greece's natural wildlife habitats and species in the danger of extinction.

From 1965 through modern day, over 3 million visitors, 70% of which are in the youth demographic, have experienced the exhibits displayed at the museum.

The Goulandris Natural History Museum in Kifissia also functions as a complementary educational institution for all levels of education.

Its activities include supplementary education programs, seminars, lectures, the publication of books and other material, and itinerant exhibitions on crucial environmental issues in Greece and abroad. The venue is also linked to international organizations and to higher education institutions.
