Archaeological Site of Amphiarion

The Archaeological Site of Amphiarion, is a sanctuary in Attica, east of Athens. At the area of Ampharion there are the remains of an ancient theater to find.

Near Amphiarion, one can visit the scenes of Kalamos and the Settlement of Varyti. Amphiaros was said to be a god and a wise and fair hero. The sacred area of ancient Oropos, Amphiarion was dedicated to the God, Amphiaros.

The temple's history is connected with the history of the city itself. In the city of ancient Oropos, one can also visit the ancient port of Skala Oropou, a port of immense significance which is found in the borders of Attica and Voiotia and opposite Eretria.
