Ancient Greek funeral traditions through the centuries
The ancient Greeks had firm beliefs and customs associated with death and funerals. Many of these burial traditions developed over time and differ from the common Christian funeral and burial traditions used across the Western world.
Some of their traditions involved rituals and offerings and are still used across Greece and as part of the Greek Orthodox traditions today.
