Andreas Papandreou

Andreas Papandreou was born on 5th February 1919 in Patra. He was the son of former Prime Minister George Papandreou. He was a Greek economist, a socialist politician and the founder of PAK and later on of PASOK.

Andreas Papandreou was the Prime Minister of Greece during the periods 1981-1989 and 1993-1996.

His son, Georgos Papandreou (Junior) was the Prime Minister of Greece 2009-2011. Andreas Papandreou, Senior, died on 23rd June 1996, leaving behind a rich political and scientific legacy as a heritage to the new generations of Greeks.
