Archaeological Museum of Lavrio

The Archaeological Museum of Lavrio is found at the entrance of the city coming from Mesogeia. It is frequently visited by numerous schools as part of educational programs. It is a ground floor structure built in the 1970s.

The exhibition is extended in 2 rooms, the atrium and the perimeter of the atrium. The building also has warehouses and an antiquities preservation workshop.

The building for a long time was used as a repository of antiquities. The exhibition of antiquities was inaugurated in 1999. With the completion of the project "Upgrading the Lavrio Archaeological Museum", co-financed by the European Union (ERDF) and the O.P. (Culture 2000-2006), fully renovated and equipped with air conditioning, modern sanitary facilities, and infrastructure for the reception of people with mobility problems.
