Athens Metro Stations of Line 3 (Blue Line)

Line 3 (Blue Line) of the Athens Metro has a total length of 43.1 km. This metro line has 24 stations and connects, among others, Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" with the Athens City Center.

      "Aigaleo" Metro Station
Inaugurated on 2007 and is under the Eleftherios Venizelos Square (which is also known by the older name as "Crucifixion" Square) in suburb Aigaleo. It is entirely underground and has a central pier. In the Aigaleo station you can see parts of the Ancient Iera Odos embraced by supporting walls and by roadside cemetery.


      "Eleonas" Metro Station
Eleonas station is underground and has double-sided platforms. In Elaionas station you can see 3 abutments of Kifissos River Bridge.


      "Kerameikos" Metro Station
The Station of "Kerameikos" took its name from Ancient Cemetery of Kerameikos. Inaugurated on 2007. It is underground and has two side platforms. In Kerameikos Station (Gazi) you can see the work of the modern artist, John Boutea. His work is characterized by the use of light, natural or artificial, usually in the form of lamps with neon tubes.


      "Monastiraki" Metro Station
It named after Monastiraki Square. The station was inaugurated on May 17th, 1895. It is partly outdoor type open and partly underground and has double-sided platforms. On the ticketing level of Monastiraki Station you can see the creation of artist Leda Papakonstantinou, made of 324 pieces of plexiglass occupy 134 square meters on the roof. The embedded bed of the Eridanos River is one out of the most significant finds of the Monastiraki Station.


      "Syntagma" Metro Station
It took its name from Syntagma Square (Constitution Square), on which the main entrance is located. It is entirely underground 4- levels station with fixed and sliding electric scales. Inaugurated on 2000. The Syntagma Metro Station has elements of modern aesthetics, such as the so-called "Clock Metro", created by sculptor Theodoros Papadimitriou. Also you will find lot of archaeological founds from the area around the Square.


      "Evangelismos" Metro Station
The station took its name from the Hospital "Evangelismos", one of the biggest in Athens. The Metro Station is located in front of the hospital. It was inaugurated on January 28th, 2000. It is underground and has double-sided platforms. In Evangelismos Station you can see the work of the internationally renowned sculptor and painter, Chrysa. The sculpture called "Mott Street". Also in the station's ticketing area are exposed archaeological finds unearthed during construction.


      "Megaro Moussikis" Metro Station


      "Ampelokipoi" Metro Station
The Metro Station "Ampelokipoi" got its name from the Athenian district of Ambelokipoi. It was inaugurated on 2000. It is underground and has double-sided platforms. You can see the work of the Greek-American artist Stephen Antonakos. Neon constructions with colorful soft light called "Procession" (def. "Pompi").

      "Ethniki Amyna" Metro Station
"Ethniki Amyna" means "Ministry of Defense" - which is located here. The station was inaugurated on 2000. It is underground and has central pier and train spotting line. On the first level of Ethiniki Amyna station there are the 12 mineral trees by Costas Tsoklis, which reflect in the opposite mirror and multiply by giving the impression of a forest - which is why the installation is called "Underground Park".
