Collections of the Archaeological Museum of Lavrio

The displays are categorized in thematic and chronological order, as it aims to explicate the aspects of human life and activity from prehistoric times to the 6th Century. A.D..

Hall 1
This hall is dedicated to mining and metallurgical activities in Lavreotiki in antiquity. Emphasis is placed on engravings concerning mining laboratories.

Hall 2
This hall houses vases, tools and stone jewelry from the cave of Kitsos, inhabited in the Neolithic Age (6th - 5th Centuries B.C.), vases and other gifts from the cemeteries of Thorikos and the wider region of Sounios (8th - 4th Century B.C.), as well as finds from sanctuaries and settlements in various locations of Lavreotiki.

An important place in the museum is the relief plaques from the frieze of the Temple of Poseidon in Sounio, as well as tombstones and votive statues and reliefs from the ancient municipalities of Lavreotiki. Impressive is the mosaic floor from the Early Christian (4th-5th Century) basilica of Lavrio.
