Poros is located 300 meters from the Peloponnese mainland through a 300 meter canal and receives many day visitors who come to the island mainly for its good food.
Poros is also famous for its wine. A grape variety that grows in the north of the island, on the plateau of Fousas, is especially famous for its flavor which is typical for a volcanic island.
