Eleftherias Park

Eleftherias Park

In the center of Athens, just next to the Megaro Mousikis Hall is Eleftherias Park - a green oasis that promises to offer you wonderful moments of relaxation.

Access to the park is very easy. It can be done by bus and trolley by getting off at the "Nosokomeio Alexandras" stop, or by metro at the "Megaro Moussikis" stop, and if you want you can go by car and park in a specially designated area.

Entering the Eleftherias Park the first thing you will see is the restaurant & café bar. An ideal choice for food, drink or coffee all year round. At the restaurant, you can enjoy dishes coming mainly from Mediterranean-style cuisine along with quirky and delicious cocktails. Accompanied by fine finger foods and music selections depending on the night that range from chill out sounds up to classic disco tracks. Also, the venue is available for parties and receptions upon request.

Going a few steps further into the park we will come upon the "Eleftherios Venizelos Museum". Founded in 1986, it consists of personal objects belonging to Eleftherios Venizelos, the first Prime Minister of Greece, that are related to events that marked his famous life as well as several pictures and portraits.

Adjacent to the museum of Eleftherios Venizelos one will find the space that houses the art gallery of the municipality "Documenta 14" where events, exhibitions of painting, musical events, lectures etc. took place.

Directly behind the afore mentions building is the "Link Prisoners & Exiled Resistance". The building is used as a liaison office as well as a museum regarding dictatorship and democratic resistance. It exhibits various documents of that era, information about the activists and their personal items.

Do not forget to take the time before leaving the park to sit in the grass behind the statue of Eleftherios Venizelos and enjoy the warm sunshine on the green landscape.
