You are seeking the old video-game-style adventures and you want some real life experience? Then it's time for you to try the "Escape Rooms" of Athens! The Escape Room is a co-active and visceral real-life game.

A group of people agree to be closed into a room, where they search for clues and decipher puzzles aimed for the completion of a given task and finally unearth the key to escape the room within a set time limit.

The games are based on a number of video games called "Escape the Room", in which the players are barred inside a chamber and need to examine their environment so as to escape their enclosure. The earliest real-life room escape was called "Origin" and created in Silicon Valley by a group of system programmers in 2006. The riddles and conflicts in this pastime were inspired by the writings of Agatha Christie and, thus, became a popular tourist attraction.

This sport found a huge fanbase in the Asias market after being developed by 35-year-old Takao Kato of the Kyoto publishing company in 2008. Since 2012, the games have spread from there to Europe, Australia and the U.S. In 2016, there were over 3,000 escape rooms worldwide and also a television game show called "Race to Escape".
