Excursions outside Athens

The possibilities to explore Athens or the opportunities, as well, for small escapes from the rhythms of the megalopolis are almost countless. Organized, private, planned or improvised, the visitor of Athens is able, any time, to use a car, a bus, the train, or a boat, to broaden his horizon and fill his or her eyes with light, sun and deep blue sea.

The word "escape" – used in the wider sense – in Athens has a meaning of special substance. It does not necessarily mean that Athens can be explored that quickly to eventually bore the visitor, on the contrary.

At a very short distance from Athens, about 50 to 250 km, one may find magical places of archaeological, historical or tourist interest that will enable him to combine a visit to the city with a quick dash outside the city environment. Drive a rental car or use the intercity transportation!
