Greek TV Stations

Greek TV Stations

The route to Greek private television was essentially opened by the law 1866 in 1989 of the Tzannetaki government, which allowed the granting of licenses for the establishment and operation of private local television stations after the simple opinion of the then newly established National Broadcasting Council (ESR).

Television stations now thrive in Greece and most of the other significant cities in the country also run their own topical channels.
