Ferry boats depart from Piraeus port daily (duration 2 hours) and flying dolphins (duration 1 hour) and also, ferries departing from Galatas to Poros.
In ancient years, Poros consisted of 2 islands, Sfairia, named by Sfairos, and Kalavria. The island was named "Poros" because between the 2 islands there is a narrow passage (Greek meaning "poros").
The most famous resorts of the island are the traditional areas of Poros, Kanali, Askeli and Neorion. The island is full of modern bars and restaurants, and also you may entertain yourself with trekking, mountain biking, walking by the seaside or sailing and water activities.
