Sightseeing on Poros Island

A walk through the picturesque main town of Poros Island shows that there are still many old houses preserved making it something quite special.

In the middle of it is the archaeological museum of the island. The museum is not very big, but has some interesting finds from Poros Island and the Mycenaean sanctuary from the neighboring Methana peninsula.

In the spring months the island is surrounded by a fresh lemon scent. This most famous lemon forest in Greece, is located on the mainland, opposite the port of Poros. An ideal landscape for enjoying the spectacural green area, full of lemon trees and trekking between picturesque water mills.

If you visit the Island of Poros the first ten days of July, every 2 years, is celebrated sailors week.
