Athens has a rich tradition in sports, and the country’s sports performance has been equally impressive in the recent years with many achievements for national athletes and teams.
The organization of the 2004 Olympic Games led to the addition of new stadiums and training centers to the city's athletic infrastructure with the high standard sporting facilities being available for prestigious sports competitions and events.
