Technopolis - Industrial Gas Museum

Technopolis - Industrial Gas Museum
It had supplied energy and lighting in the Athens metropolitan area for nearly 130 years. A visit to the Industrial Gas Museum in Gazi allows visitors to learn about or recall the old form of energy inextricably linked with the development of the capitol of Greece, during the 19th Century. Via a path with 13 stops, interested parties can observe the machines that were not accessible to the general public for close to 30 years and discover a rare example of industrial architecture and technology of the times. This is one of the few surviving monuments of the Hellenic industrial heritage.
Furthermore, find out about the working conditions of the time and become familiar with terms such as "industrial heritage" and "Gazochori", in the form of captivating image projections and powerful audio testimonies. The museum offers educational programs for the young on special occasions. Lastly, in a continuous effort to reach out to larger and more diverse audiences, events such as art and photography exhibitions, film projections and shadow puppet theater take place on a regular basis at the venue.
