The Metro Network of Athens

Today, the Athens Metro consists not only of the previously existing Line 1 (Green Line: Piraeus - Kifissia), but also of two more lines: Line 2 (Red Line: Anthoupoli – Elliniko) and Line 3 (Blue Line: Nikaia – Athens International Airport).

Attiko Metro is the government-run company responsible for the smooth running and works related to the rapid-transit system in Greece, which serves the greater Athens area and parts of East Attica. Combined with the Tramway and the Suburban Railway, the Metro Network (a.k.a. Urban Rail Transport Company - STASY S.A.) has served to enhance of the every-day life in the Attica basin. This consolidation a subsidiary of the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA).
 


Specfically, the two Lines of the Athens Metro are 61 km long in total with 44 state-of-the-art Stations (including four Stations, with 48 km of suburban railway line, from Piraeus to the Athens International Airport).
