Vasilissis Sofias Avenue

Vasilissis Sofias Avenue

Driving through the elegantly lit Vasilissis Sofias avenue is is a real pleasure. It's difficult to find another street (except Eleftherios Venizelos Street or Panepistimiou Street) with such beauty and classical glamour in Athens.

The Vasilissis Sofias Avenue begins at Syntagma Square and stretches for almost 3 km to the northeast, all the way to Ampelokipoi, at the intersection of Alexandras Avenue and Kifisias Avenue.

Literally planted with neoclassical buildings, embassies, museums and ministries, Vasilissis Sofias Avenue passes the Hellenic Parliament, the National Gallery, the Hilton Hotel and the Megaron Moussikis (Concert Hall). Some of its sections are full of bars for young people, for example Mavilis Square.
