Organized Athenian windsurfing centers provide equipment and offer courses around the coastline during the winter and summer months. The best wave spots in Attica are Artemida (Loutsa) on the east coast of Attica - 30 km east of Athens city center, Schinias Beach - 45 km northeast of Athens (close to Marathona), and Anavyssos - 47 km east of Athens.
For those who are traveling to Paros Island and wish to surf, Golden Beach, and Santa Maria Beach are the famous windsurfing destinations. In Mykonos Island, Kalafati Beach is the meeting place for wave riders, and the famous Ftelia Beach is north facing and exposed to the strong winds offers glorious waves for the pros of windsurfing.
