Tsitsipas in the "4" of the Monte Carlo Masters
Stefanos Tsitsipas advanced to the semifinals of the Monte Carlo Tennis Masters tournament, without having to finish his match with Alejandro Davidovic Fokina. The Greek tennis player won the first set 7-5 after a fight, but immediately afterwards the Spaniard announced that he was leaving, as he was facing an injury problem.
Thus, Tsitsipas moved to the "4" of the tournament.
Furthermore, the man who forced Novak Djokovic the other (15/4) in his first defeat this year, will be the opponent of Stefanos Tsitsipas in today's (17/4) semifinal of the Masters tournament in Monte Carlo. The British Daniel Evans, for that reason, overcame the obstacle of the Belgian David Goffen in the quarterfinals with 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 and is the last obstacle on the way of the Greek champion to the final.
The 31-year-old Evans is ranked No. 33 in the world (he has reached No. 26) and earlier this year won the first professional title of his career in Melbourne, in one of the preparation tournaments before the Australian Open. Last year he faced Tsitsipas twice and the Greek tennis player prevailed comfortably in both cases, in the semifinals in Dubai and Hamburg.
