Media strike Thursday to Monday

Two rolling 48-hour nationwide strikes involving all the Greek media, including administrative staff and press distributors, will start at 6 a.m. on Thursday and end at 6 a.m. on Monday morning.

The strike action was decided by the boards of the unions ESIEA (Athens journalists), EPIEA (Athens media enterprise staff) and other media sector unions and will affect all newspapers, broadcast media, news websites, press distribution agencies, the ANA-MPA, magazines and all broader public sector and local authority media enterprises in the country.

The unions demand that employers sign satisfactory collective labour agreements, stop to wage cuts, protect entitlements and stop firings.
