For the third year, in the framework of Athens Photo World, the exhibition of Teen Photographers is organized, with a presence this year for the first time in 4 parts of the city.

The central idea and title of this year's exhibition is "Man and the Environment" and it takes place from June 17th to July 17th, 2022.

The aim is to encourage teenagers to go outside, after persistent and painful confinement, to enjoy the beauty of the natural environment around them, while discovering nature and the recreational possibilities it offers both on a personal and group level.

Through the artistic expression and capture of nature, whether it is the neighborhood park or a section of forest or their favorite beach, teenagers will acquire a closer relationship with the environment around them placing it at the center of a personal expression and a healthy externalization of thoughts and emotions.

At the same time, the use of their mobile phones is encouraged so that the action is even more compatible with what they are already used to using as a means of communication and entertainment.

For the creation of the exhibition, Athens Photo World, as part of the company's social responsibility, organized – as in 2019 and 2021 – a workshop for teenagers with a love for photography.

The group of teenagers (13-18 years old) participants was created from all the schools in Greece that expressed an interest in participating.

Under the guidance of curator Dora Lavazou, the purpose of the action was, on the one hand, to create interest among young people in photography as an art and as a means of expression, and on the other hand, to highlight, through their photographic work, their reflections, concerns and beauty like this it emanates through the raw youthful gaze.

With the familiarization of teenagers through electronic media but also with the conditions already formed in 2020, both the communication and the progress of their photographic work took place through the computer and the new communication and teaching tools.

The best entries of the workshop will be selected by the curator of the project Dora Lavazou and the Artistic Director of Athens Photo World Thanasis Stavrakis and will be exhibited.

This year, evolving the institution of the exhibition of Teen Photographers that has already been established since 2019, Athens Photo World is moving forward with the expansion of the exhibition and its simultaneous presence in four parts of the city, corresponding to the four points of the horizon.

In collaboration with 3 different municipalities from June 17th to July 17th and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) from July 1st to July 31st, the work of the teenagers will be shown in outdoor spaces, accessible to the public, in every corner of the capital.
