First place and qualification of "Lord of the Rings" Petrounias at Cottbus Instrumental World Cup

In his first appearance since his triumph in last August's European Championship in Munich, again on German soil, the "Lord of the Rings" scored 14.733 points and qualified as 1st in Saturday's (25/02) final, edging out, among others, Iranian Mahdi Ahmad Kohani (14,666 b.) and Turkish world title holder Adem Asil (14,633 b.).
 
Konstantinos Konstantinidis (13.000 b. on rings, 25th among 47 athletes), Apostolos Kanellos (12.066 b. on pommel horse, 43rd) and Stefanos Tsolakidis (11.033 b. on pommel horse, 51st) also participated in the premiere qualifiers.
 
At the same time, in the women's category, Christina Kiosi ranked 17th in the vault with 11.749 b.. and Areti Pagoni 21st in the uneven bars with 10.833 b..
 
 Today, Friday (24/02), in the second leg of the qualifiers, Nikos Iliopoulos (doubles, singles), Stefanos Tsolakidis (doubles), Apostolos Kanellos (singles) will compete on the Greek side, and Christina Kiosi (balance beam, ground) and Areti Pagoni (balance beam, ground) in women.
