Tsitsipas: "Kolar drove me crazy"
The Greek champion, who is at No. 4 in the world rankings, prevailed over the Czech, Zdenek Kolar with 3-1 sets (6-3, 7-6, 6-7, 7-6) and advanced to the third round of the famous Grand Slam.
2 days after the 23-year-old Tsitsipas came from two sets down to beat Italian Lorenzo Musetti at the claycourt Grand Slam, there was another nail-biter for the 2021 finalist.
The match appeared headed for a deciding set when Tsitsipas found himself down 4 set points in the tiebreaker but the Greek found a way to save them all before converting his second match point after 4 hours and 6 minutes.
Shortly after the end of the match, "Tsitsifast" commented: "I was crazy. I was very upset, he was driving me crazy during the match."
"He put on every part of his body to cope. I want to congratulate him for a great game and a great effort he made. I was looking for straight bangs throughout the match, but I did not find it."
"Let's say I was lucky."
Tsitsipas will meet 95th-ranked Mikael Ymer of Sweden for a place in the fourth round.
