Bank of Greece

Bank of Greece

The building where the Bank of Greece is located, was built between 1933 and 1938. You can found this at Eleftherios Venizelos (Panepistimiou) Street at number 21.

It is the creation of 3 architects (Nikolaos Zouboulidis, Kimon Laskaris, and Constantine Papadakis). According to experts, the facade of the building imitates almost perfectly the Old Palace, designed by Friedrich von Gärtner a century earlier and, if you observe carefully, can probably find several similarities to the front of the Hellenic Parliament.

In 1982, another floor was built  in order to serve the needs of the Bank, under the supervision of architects Em. Dalaklis and I. Karagiannakis.  Since 1983, the Bank of Greece has been declared a historical monument.
