According to the publication, the agreement will provide for a part of the Sculptures to be sent from the British Museum to Athens on a rotating basis in stages. In return, the Acropolis Museum could lend other objects to the British Museum while Britain could also get plaster casts of the Parthenon Sculptures. Bloomberg: Greece and Britain close to an agreement Earlier, the whole issue of an agreement regarding the Parthenon Sculptures between the British Museum and the Acropolis Museum had been shaken by the Bloomberg report. British media reported that the 2 Museums were close to an agreement that would see the Parthenon Marbles returned to Greece as part of a cultural exchange, ending a dispute over the historic objects dating back to the 1800s. It is recalled that on December 3rd, 2022, the British Guardian revealed that Athens and London were in preliminary talks about the Parthenon Sculptures. Read about: Guardian: Greece in preliminary talks with British Museum over Parthenon Marbles The latest Bloomberg report, citing sources familiar with the matter who declined to be named because the deal has not been formalized, said the deal would see a portion of the marbles sent to Athens on a rotating basis over a number of years. In return, other objects would be effectively loaned to the London museum, while Britain could also receive plaster casts of the Parthenon Sculptures. According to the same sources, intensive discussions continue and the agreement has not yet been finalized, while it is noted that the logistical infrastructure for moving the projects is also extremely complicated. An Athens-London deal on the Parthenon Sculptures, the report notes, would resolve a dispute that has plagued Anglo-Greek relations since the founding of modern Greece in 1832 and which has even threatened to add tension to the UK's already complicated Brexit negotiations. with the European Union. The Parthenon Sculptures - the publication states - are a collection of ancient objects that were transferred from the Acropolis to Athens at the beginning of the 19th Century by Lord Elgin, the British ambassador to the Ottoman Empire. Elgin "removed" - as noted in the publication - the sculptures from the ruins of the Parthenon under controversial circumstances and transported them to Britain. Greek governments have stepped up calls for their return in recent decades, in a long-running political and diplomatic dispute.

One of the most common discussions that happen when it comes to children is about boundaries. Boundaries have received both positive and negative connotations and this is mainly due to the fact that boundaries are often associated with consequences, punishments, strictness and authoritarianism. Why are boundaries important? They concern our survival within social groups, our self-determination, our personal balance but also our safety and physical integrity and health. In this seminar for parents we open the discussion about when we start setting limits, how we communicate them, how they affect the character and behavior of the child.

The deal is estimated to contribute some 2.2 billion euros ($2.13 billion) to Greece's economic output and create some 20,000 jobs by 2030, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said. Since taking office in 2019, Mitsotakis's conservative government has stepped up moves to diversify the economy and attract foreign investment and high tech companies to the country which emerged from a decade-long financial crisis in 2018. "Today, we are very pleased to be announcing our first cloud region in Greece which will provide storage and cloud services for Google customers," said Adaire Fox-Martin, president of Google Cloud International, announcing the investment at an event in Athens. The investment would enable organisations to better use their data, help improve low latency and ensure users' security in the face of cybersecurity threats, she said. The media company, once valued at $5.7 billion, has been exploring its options since last autumn, after abandoning its plans to go public via a merger with the blank-check company 7GC & Co Holdings Inc. It has hired advisor PJT Partners and the investment bank LionTree to evaluate interest. Group Black, a collective of Black-owned media firms, also is in discussions, according to the person and a second source. The Wall Street Journal previously reported the talks. Vice declined to comment and Greece-based Antenna Group did not respond to a request for comment. Group Black could not immediately be reached for comment. The New York Times reported the Antenna Group interest earlier on Friday. Vice’s assets include Vice Studios, the studio behind the Oscar-nominated documentary “Flee,” and Pulse Films, the studio behind the show AMC show “Gangs of London” and Spike Jonze’s “Beastie Boys Story” on Apple TV+. Antenna Group, a privately-held media and entertainment company with a presence in Central and Eastern Europe, has been in partnership with Vice in 2014. The broadcaster now distributes Vice’s programming in Greece, Romania, Serbia, and in the Balkans. Vice is among a group of fast-rising digital media ventures that once commanded rich valuations, as they courted millennial audiences. It rose to prominence alongside its provocative co-founder, Shane Smith, who built his media empire from a single Canadian magazine. Smith’s aspirations to become the biggest media company in the world attracted such investors as Disney, Fox and the private equity firm TPG. A New York Times article that recounted allegations of sexual harassment and a culture of “male entitlement” led Smith resign as the company’s chief executive in 2018 and move to an executive chairman role. The Brooklyn company named television veteran Nancy Dubuc, the onetime chief of A+E Networks, took the reins as CEO, charged with growing the business and transforming its culture. Vice also owns a creative ad agency Virtue, a women’s lifestyle publisher Refinery29, which it acquired in 2019, and a news division, whose “Vice News Tonight” picked up a total of 21 Emmy nominations. Its television network, Vice TV, is distributed to more than 60 million homes by A&E. As recently as September 2021, Vice Media raised $135 million from some of its existing investors, including James Murdoch’s Lupa Systems, TPG and TCV, as well as Antenna Group. The cash infusion provided revenue to fund operations and pursue deals. [Reuters]

is now available to provide information on accessible routes and sites for tourists with either visual or mobility disabilities. The website: https://accessibleroutes.thisisathens.org has charted 8 of the most accessible tourist itineraries in Athens, which combine the maximum possible points of interest with the fewest possible obstacles and restrictions in the built environment. It notes that Athens, thanks to coordinated efforts, is slowing becoming more accessible while "maintaining the necessary respect for the cultural heritage and the structural elements needed to be preserved." The itineraries were traced by focus groups made up of people with either visual or mobility impairments and professionals in these areas, who tested the routes in vivo and made suggestions based on their personal experience. The site also provides information on accessibility at each point of interest. The website proposes 8 possible routes, 4 for mobility impaired individuals and 4 for sight-impaired persons, covering four key areas: the Historic Heart to Urban Soul of Athens, Ancient Athens Uncovered, Origins of Modern Athens and the National Gardens of Athens and Surrounding Highlights. These are shown on an interactive map that indicates every possible obstacle and ways to avoid them. The steps are clearly and detailed, with audio capability (via a widget) for people that are sight impaired. Upon selecting a route, the points of interest are marked, the route is summarised, as is accessibility and there is a detailed itinerary and map with a link to Google Maps. Also included is information on access to public transport options. The social enterprise “Me Alla Matia” is a non-profit organization that was founded and organised by disabled people. It takes action in accessibility consulting in digital and structured environments, as well as in psychosocial support and education of the disabled, their families and professionals of the respective field.

“Like, I get too tensed up, because I just start sweating on the couch,” Antetokounmpo said. He prefers being on the court, especially because his brother plays with him. Antetokounmpo took up basketball in Greece with his brother Thanasis and they are still together now on the Milwaukee Bucks – who have a few players who know what it’s like to have siblings in the NBA. “Me and Thanasis were playing on the same team for more than 10 years. So, it’s almost like two co-workers going to work every day,” Antetokounmpo said in an interview with The Associated Press. “I don’t see him as my brother when I’m at work. He does his job, I do my job, but obviously when the game is over, when the practice is over, we spend time together, as much as we can. “He makes my life way easier.” Their other three brothers are elsewhere in the world. But the difficulties their family faced while living in Athens has kept them close, a story that’s told in “Rise,” which debuts Friday on Disney+. The movie includes some highlights from the 2021 NBA Finals, when Antetokounmpo averaged 35.2 points, 13.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists in leading the Bucks to their first championship in 50 years . But he said the film, for which he served as an executive producer, isn’t really about basketball. “No, this is a movie about my dad and my mom,” Antetokounmpo said, “the sacrifices they made, how dedicated they were to providing for us, the difficulties that they faced every single day in their lives and the fear they had when they were walking the streets of Athens. “That’s the real story.” Charles and Vera Antetokounmpo moved from Nigeria to Athens, leaving their oldest son with family, but were never able to obtain Greek citizenship, which continued to provide disappointment and danger, even though the other four sons were born in the country. Basketball eventually provided the security they could never get when Giannis entered the 2013 NBA draft and was selected by the Bucks with the No. 15 pick. One of the worst teams in the NBA when he arrived, the Bucks have become one of the best behind Antetokounmpo, a two-time NBA MVP. Teammate Jrue Holiday has two brothers playing in the league and center Brook Lopez’s twin Robin even spent a season with the Bucks. “I think it’s just easier for us to relate to one another and know what they’re going through, and it’s fun to see Brook interact with Robin, or Jrue with Aaron or Justin,” Antetokounmpo said. “Like, it’s fun to see how they act when they play one another or how they act around one another on the basketball court. “But it’s crazy, I don’t know if there’s ever been brothers that played on the same team or played against one another ever in the NBA as much as the Milwaukee Bucks.” Another brother, Kostas Antetokounmpo, won a title with the Lakers in 2020 before playing professionally in France, while Alex plays for the Toronto Raptors’ NBA G League affiliate. That makes it hard for siblings who once slept in the same bed to be together often, though the four brothers did join their mother at the premiere this week. “A lot of people ask me, ‘Hey, would you change your childhood, would you like to have a different life than the life you had and the upbringing you had?'” Antetokounmpo said. “Like, no way, no way, because that’s what makes us who we are today.”
