2 areas evacuated at Marathonas as fire nears homes
An evacuation order was sent via the emergency number 112 to residents in the areas of Paliouri and Rizari at Marathonas, on the east coast of Attica, where a brushfire broke out at 14:40 on Wednesday afternoon, said the Hellenic Fire Brigade.

Some 45 firefighters with 13 fire engines, 2 ground teams and 2 water-dowsing helicopters are operating to put it out.
According to earlier information by the Fire Brigade the fire started at the junction of Eolou and Olympionikon Streets, near houses.
