The one and only Miranda Veroulis returns to Half Note Jazz Club on Wednesday October 25th for a night dedicated to the "Queen of Bossa Nova" Astrud Gilberto.

Astrud Gilberto has left a huge cultural legacy. She is the one who, in the 60s, introduced bossa nova to the world, the jewels of the creators of this new Brazilian musical genre with her airy voice and her characteristic accent in English.

A timeless reference for listeners and musicians alike, her performance inspires this tribute to her remarkable journey, from her beginnings in Bahia at the side – and as husband – of João Gilberto, to the biggest music stages worldwide.

Miranda Veroulis, is a singer/songwriter with a long-standing presence in the Greek jazz and world scene. She is considered the "Ambassador" of Brazilian music in Greece and has been honored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil with the Medal of the Knight of Rio Branco for her contribution to the promotion of Brazilian music in Greece.

Together with a group of leading Greek jazz musicians, he selects songs from the iconic first recordings of the "Queen of Bossa Nova" but also from her fine discography in general and invites us on a "Non-stop to Brasil" flight! On Wednesday October 25th at Half Note Jazz Club!

The concert is held under the auspices of the Brazilian Embassy in Athens.
