The exhibition All Dreams Are Vexing | All dreams are disturbing by Malvina Panagiotidis is the result of the thorough research that the artist did in the summer of 2023 in Spetses, in the house where the first Greek painter, Eleni Boukoura-Altamoura, isolated herself after the premature death of her two children -from tuberculosis 1821-1900).

During that period, Altamura resorted to spiritualism, in an attempt to reconnect with her children, leaving behind several legends as well as a grimoire, a "magical" manuscript with spells.

EMST's Project Room 2 is transformed into an immersive setting, a "magical" space where glass, wax and copper sculptures interact with a video and sound project. With an artistic practice that focuses on the intersections of occult modernism, the operation of the fantasy and the openness of human behavior in different socio-political conditions, Malvina Panagiotidis reexamines the myth of the "mad woman in the attic".

Malvina Panagiotidis was born in Athens where she lives and works. He studied architecture at the University of Thessaly and in the Master's program Art in Context at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. He has been awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artists Support Program (2018) and the Spyropoulos Prize (2016).
