About

The program "Revolution is not a one time event" is presented in the Tavros space, which is a tribute to the seemingly small, revolutionary gestures and the heterogeneous and continuous fighting processes of feminism.

The visual exhibition becomes the occasion for a rich public program with more than 50 contributors and a series of events: film screenings and discussions, performance and open mic nights, research and educational workshops, as well as weekly community meetings, inviting a polyphonic gathering.

Program contributors: Nina Papakonstantinou, Lena Maria Thüring / Nionia Films (Alkisti Efthymiou, Maria F Dolores, Smaro Papaevangelou, Sofia Dona) / Films by Gizem Aksu, Agustina Comedi, Cheryl Dunye, Panagiotis Evagelidis, Su Friedrich, Marlon T. Riggs, Harri Shanahan & Siân A. Williams, Hito Steyerl / Giota Argyropoulou with Stelios Skaltsa and Alex(a), Genderhood, Erica Skourtis / Eva Giannakopoulou, Nana Sahini / VASKOS (Vassilis Noulas and Costas Tzimoulis) with Leto Messini, Konstantina Daouti and Melina Kollia, FRMC - curated by Katerina Iliopoulou and Yannis Isidorou (soundscape) - with the poets Phoebe Giannisi, Tonia Tzirita Zaharatou, Lenia Zafeiropoulou, Katerina Iliopoulou, Lena Kallergi, Paulina Marvin, Gianna Bukova, Olga Papakosta, Alexandra Plastira, the translators Eleni Vlachou and Zografia Kefalopoulou and the visual artists Iris Depasta and Mania Benisi / Olga Dalekou, Positive Voice, Center for New Media and Feminist Practices in the Public Space, DIZEZA / AFSAR (Asian Feminist Studio for Art and Research), Haven for Artists, KIRIK & Zeyno Pekünlü, Mimosa House, Radical Sense, Tropical Papers, etc.

The title of the exhibition comes from Audre Lorde's quote: "Revolution is not a single event. It is always on the alert for the slightest opportunity that can bring about a real change in established, outdated responses."

With the support of Outset Partners.
The program was awarded the Impact Grant award.
