In its last concert at the Olympia Theater, the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens presents an imaginative program with works whose titles refer to the time intervals of the day.
From Elgar's lightly melodic "Morning Song" to Debussy's lazy "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun" to Mussorgsky's stormy and dark "Night on Bald Mountain", the particular atmosphere of each moment is reflected in the descriptive and evocative compositions of the program.
Soloist in de Falla's impressive "Nights in the Gardens of Spain" is the pianist Nefeli Mousoura, while Vladimir Symeonidis conducts from the podium.
