Description

The National Science Research Center started its operation in the late 1950s as an independent public service called the "Demokritos" Nuclear Research Center. In 1985, it received its current name and became self-governed - under the supervision of the Ministry of Development. Its original aim was to promote nuclear research and technology for peaceful purposes.
