Athens Municipality Symphony Orchestra and Athens Chamber Choir.

Greek mythology was at the center of the tribute "Hellas!" which was presented in May 2023 in the context of the International Handel Festival of Göttingen (Germany), with which the Municipality of Athens and the Olympia theater collaborate. Artistic director of this benchmark festival, chief musician Giorgos Petrou conducts and directs the new production of "Semele", a musical drama based on Ovid's "Metamorphoses", which the composer himself describes as a "cosmic oratorio". The play tells the story of Semele, another mortal who falls in love with Zeus. After the premiere in Göttingen in May 2023, the opera takes to the Olympia stage in a highly entertaining staging that emphasizes the comic as well as the dramatic elements of the plot. Leading singers specializing in early music perform the main roles, among them the new star of the baroque scene, the Swiss soprano Marie Lys.
