MESOGEION AVENUE

The beginning of Mesogeion is located on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue with characteristic point the Athens Tower, one of the city¢s tallest buildings. After the Municipality of Athens, Mesogeion separates N. Psyhiko from the Municipality of Papagou, Halandri from Holargos and Agia Paraskevi – crossing it and passing the capital¢s boundary – to Gerakas, where its name becomes Marathonos Avenue.

There, the signs show the exit to Attiki Odos (Attica Highway), with main destination the El. Venizelos International Airport. There is also the Ymittos beltway as a more convenient route. The express urban bus E95 (Syntagma – El. Venizelos) follows this route, starting in Syntagma Square.

At the junction of Mesogeion and Katehaki is the smart footbridge of Calatrava, a characteristic point on the street. Driving on Mesogeion, one finds the Ministry of National Defense (Pentagon), the National Greek Radio and Television Station and the Mint.
