The Aeschylus Festival and the 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture invite you to the opening of the 2023 Aeschylus Festival on August 27 at the Archaeological site of Eleusis.
"Sleep Persephone in the arms of the earth...", "in Eleusis once", for a one and only concert, Maria Faradouri and Manolis Mitsias join their voices, on August 27, and remind us of some of the masterpieces of the artist and popular Greek songs of the great composers and poets: Theodorakis, Hatzidakis, Mikroutsikos, Seferis, Elytis, Ritsou, Gatsou, Anagnostaki and others. Two great artists, stable and consistent in quality singing, appear in one of the most important archaeological sites and perform well-known and beloved songs accompanied by excellent musicians.

A violin and piano recital by the young Eleusinian artist Emilios Bartzis and the award-winning piano soloist Margarita Kolasis in works of the classical repertoire.
The event is co-organized with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Western Attica.
