On February 19, 2024, the Athens State Orchestra will perform a concert at the Benaki Museum entitled "Musical Walks. With a French Flavor I". It will be preceded by a guided tour of the Museum's collection of Paintings, Engravings and Drawings.
Program:
19:30: Guided tour of the Museum's collection of Paintings, Engravings and Drawings by the department's art historian, Vasiliki Daniel.
20:30: French composers, influenced by Impressionism, write about the special tonal combination of instruments: flute, harp and string trio. Strong alternations of emotion and expression run through all the works on the program, most notably Jolivet's work, inspired by the ancient myth of Linus, which is one of the most important works written for these instruments.
