Art Zone 42 gallery is presenting the solo exhibition of artist Ioanna Michopoulos entitled Urban Narratives.

The exhibition as a whole consists of acrylic works that have an emotional value for her, as they are her experiences of cities, alleys, buildings that contain pleasant and unpleasant memories.
Its guise is the geometry combined with the intense, shadowless, color. We could say that her works remind us of something from Hockney's famous painting "A Bigger Splash", where strict geometry defines the landscape. Intense perspective, depth and layers create an urban fabric as a network that only the artist can perceive, as if there is a city within the city and new building forms are revealed by X-rays. Indeed, this fabric of the city, when seen from above, it approaches in morphology the geometries of a computer board.

The art historian Evangelia Kairakis talks about the visual artist's work: "The city as a palimpsest of visual stimuli is dealt with by Ioanna Michopoulou in her second solo exhibition, with urban planning, building volumes and landmarks being for her an appropriate field of introspection and contemplation. With geometrical associations, but also with color suggesting psychic passion, the artist reinterprets empirical reality, deconstructing and reconstituting it as a 'master' in the context of a mutated neo-plasticist pictorial perception."
