The return to historical instruments and historical performance techniques was neither easy nor quick. Among the artists who, as early as the 70s, were not afraid to propose an "old" sound as authentically new, current and artistically alive, was the Spanish conductor Jordi Saval, who as a viola da gaba player knew deeply the secrets of old music .
Possessing an ambitious artistic vision, he consistently delivers benchmark performances, many of which have also been captured on award-winning recordings. His appearance at the Megaro together with the Orchestra he created and directs, focuses on two top symphonic works by Felix Mendelssohn, which combine rhythmic vitality with melodic lyricism.
